Step One: Questions to guide your search
Now that you have your topic you need to focus your search.

- You will create 3 questions about your topic to guide your research. You may find out that you have to change your questions or search terms as you are searching, if you are not finding what you are looking for.
- For each question you have to come with 2 search terms that you will use on an internet search engine as a starting place.
- Fill out questions and search terms on the handout Miss Kopp gives you.
Step Two: The Search

- If you find a source you want to use. Make sure you record the information on your Resources Handout
- As you find useful information record your findings, copy and paste them into your Research Google Doc. This google Doc will be your collection of information to use for your Milwaukee Non-fiction page.

Step Three: Writing your Non-fiction Page
- Once you think all of you research is complete share your google doc with Miss Kopp. I will sign off on it for you to start drafting
- You will use the information you collected to write your first draft right on the google doc, this way we can see all the revisions you make over time.
Step Four: Peer Review
- Print and exchange your draft with a partner.
- You will each fill out the peer review form with feedback for each other. The feedback must include aspects you liked and parts that still need work.
- When you receive your feedback you will take time to read it and then fill out the self-reflection form.
- Miss Kopp will have a conference with each writer as well; to look at what went well and what can be improved.
